Koshido Ryu Karate

Our Club is run by Chief Instructor John Scott, 7th Dan. It was Founded by Dave Warburton in the 1970’s and John started training with him in 1982 reaching Black belt in1987. John went on to become his parent Association Men’s Lightweight Champion and took over the Club some years ago when Dave had to withdraw through illness.

The Club has gone from strength to strength and takes Students from the age of 6 years.

A Students first session is always free and parents etc are always welcome to stay and watch.

Once they know that a Student is going to stick with it they are required to get a suit to train in, we do not push for this at the start.

Payment can be made per session or on a monthly basis and there is a Nominal Club Membership fee (£20 pa) and an annual Association membership (£38) to pay. These are not required to be paid straight away.

We have a successful Competition squad run by Peter Barker 4th Dan and John, and have many recent Champions in the Club of all ages, including some placed in recent World and European Championships, as well as in domestic events.

Our Members are a friendly bunch and welcome and encourage new starters. There is no ‘waiting list’, we manage to fit in all who wish to join us.

Further information can be found by visiting us or by ringing John on 07932 153503.
